COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Spanish 1 covers the most elementary concepts of grammar, vocabulary, dialogue, and culture. Skills are developed through a variety of speaking, reading, writing, listening, and video activities that help students achieve a basic level of proficiency.
The big idea of Spanish 1 is mastering the present tense of regular verbs and how and when to accurately use the two forms of the verb “to be” (ser and estar). Topics include activities and routines used in daily life at school and home.
Spanish 2 for High School

Once per week over 8 weeks.

This eight-week course is designed to fulfill the academic requirements of High School Spanish 2. Prerequisite: Spanish 1 or equivalent.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Spanish 2 furthers the development of all modalities of the language — listening, speaking, reading, writing and culture — with a heavy emphasis on grammatical structures and verb tenses.
The big idea of Spanish 2 is differentiating and mastering the preterite and imperfect tenses, as well as using them in a variety of settings. Topics include air and train travel, daily routine, hygiene, backpacking, camping, and food.
Spanish 3 for High School
2-10 students per class.
Once per week over 8 weeks.

This eight-week course is designed to fulfill the academic requirements of High School Spanish 3. Prerequisite: Spanish 2 or equivalent.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Spanish 3 focuses on the advanced study of all modalities of the language – listening, speaking, reading, writing and culture – with a heavy emphasis on grammatical structures and verb tenses.
The big idea of Spanish 3 is differentiating and mastering the subjunctive mood, as well as using it in a variety of settings. Topics include Hispanic cuisine, healthy lifestyles, chores, travel, and manners.
Beginner Spanish

This course is designed to build a foundation of the Spanish language through listening comprehension, speaking, reading, writing, and culture.
Intermediate Spanish
2-10 students per class.
Once per week over 8 weeks.
$35 per class per student.
This course is designed to further the study and development of the language through the four major skills of learning – listening comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing, as well as the culture of the Spanish-speaking world. Prerequisite: Beginner.
Advanced Spanish
2-10 students per class.
Once per week over 8 weeks.
$45 per class per student.
This course emphasizes mastery and application of oral and written expression, as well as advanced readings and discussion of the Spanish culture. Prerequisite: Intermediate.

This course emphasizes mastery and application of oral and written expression, as well as advanced readings and discussion of the Spanish culture. This course also prepares students to take the AP Examination. Prerequisite: Spanish 3 or the equivalent.
